Why we don't sell lens packages.
Bronze, Silver and Gold tell you what a lens costs. They don't tell you what your eyes do all day.
This is a guide, not an eye test — any change in your vision is an examination first.
What a package is
A fixed bundle, chosen before anyone has asked how you live.
A lens package is a design band, a set of coatings and a price, put together in advance. Bronze, Silver and Gold are honest about one thing: what you will pay. They are silent about your working distances, how your frame sits, the light you drive in and the habits you have stopped noticing — because none of that was ever part of the bundle.
That is a description of what a package is, not a verdict on anyone who offers one. We don't sell them because a package decides the bundle first and meets the person second, and we would rather do it the other way round.
What we do instead
A STOTTS. configuration is a checklist, not a tier.
This is the generic checklist behind our Everyday configuration. The other six add or swap steps for the job they do — a desk pair measures desk distances, a driving configuration checks night-vision symptoms against a prescription change first — but none of them starts from a price.

Which distances was it measured for?
A package has a design band. A configuration has your furthest and nearest working distances, measured. If nobody measured them, the design has been set around an average person.

Is your position of wear used in the design?
Wrap angle, pantoscopic tilt and vertex distance all have default values. Ask whether yours were measured and, where the design accepts them, used.

Which coating, and why for me?
Every coating should have a reason you gave — reflections, scratches, glare after dark, dim-light reading. A coating that arrived with the tier has a reason, but it is not yours.

Is it the right number of pairs?
One pair or two is a wardrobe decision: your everyday pair first, a task pair only where it would genuinely do a job better. A package answers this before it has heard about your day.

What happens at the review?
A configuration includes a fitting review after you collect — adjusted or put right if needed. Ask what happens if the lens is not right on the road, at the desk or in the light you live in.

Assessment first — First — a check, not a configuration. When the honest answer is a check before any lens: a reported change in vision, distance clarity on the road, someone who wears nothing yet, an area we can see but cannot size, or several answers you were not sure about.

Packages, tiers and the questions they raise.
Is a STOTTS. configuration just a package with a different name?
No. A package is a bundle fixed before your day has been described. A configuration is assembled after it: your distances, your wearing position, a coating with a reason, one pair or two, and a review — around a lens family named on the card, with the final design a dispensing decision made with you.
Is Precision your version of Gold?
Precision is not a price tier and not a Nikon tier. It differs from Everyday only in what we measure and discuss before the design is chosen. Which Nikon design that leads to is a dispensing decision made with you.
Do you sell the Nikon tiers?
No. We do not sell packages or tiers; we assemble a configuration. No tier is ever named online — the profile names the lens family, and the design is decided with you in practice after the measurements.
What if I just want a simple pair?
Then that is the configuration. Every recommendation is held to one rule — the least complex solution that properly addresses the identified need — and STOTTS. Everyday is the configuration that can honestly be nearly nothing. We would rather tell you that than sell you a configuration.
