In & around Padiham
Mr Jinkinson's sits on Burnley Road, in the centre of Padiham, with free parking in the Tesco car park directly behind us. This proud little Lancashire town — with Gawthorpe Hall and the Memorial Park close by, and Burnley just up the road — is exactly the sort of community where being known matters. We've cared for local families here for many years, and plenty travel in from Hapton, Simonstone and Read too.
Our approach
A considered, unhurried way of looking after your eyes, your eyewear and your hearing — guided by people who take the time to understand what's right for you.
Padiham is exactly the kind of place independent healthcare should work best. People want to be known, to get honest advice, to see someone who remembers them — not an appointment that feels like a sales process with a sight test attached. Your eyes, hearing, glasses and comfort all deserve more than a quick check and a vague "these'll do." We take the time to understand what's actually right for you.

Most eye tests still focus on one thing: can you read the chart? It matters — but your vision is about far more than that. It's how your eyes cope with reading, driving, screens, glare, night vision and tired eyes. We look at your eye health, your prescription and the way you actually use your vision, and explain everything clearly so you can decide with confidence.

The right glasses should feel easy — suiting your face, prescription, lifestyle and taste, comfortable and working for how you use your eyes every day. We guide you through frame fit, style and colour, and take lens choice seriously too: varifocals, screen and driving lenses and good coatings are the difference between "fine" and "why did nobody do this properly before?"

Your hearing deserves the same care as your vision. Changes often happen slowly — harder to follow conversation in noise, the television creeping up, asking people to repeat themselves. We offer hearing care with the same calm, personal approach as our eyecare: we check, explain and advise properly. No pressure and no fuss — just clear information and the right next step.
Explore hearing care →Mr Jinkinson's became part of STOTTS. in 2021 — not to become a faceless branch, but the opposite. The aim is to protect what makes a practice like this special while raising the standard of care, technology and eyewear behind the scenes. So you still get the warmth of a local Padiham opticians, with a wider group behind it that believes care should be more personal and more considered. Not louder. Not pushier. Just better.
